Please pray for the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, IL, who this weekend are gathered at their motherhouse to celebrate and honor 11 sisters marking their 25th, 50th, 60th and 75th anniversaries of religious profession. Together, these women have given 550 years of fidelity and service to the people of God! Our Logan County Catholic Community has a special reason to want to remember them. Among the celebrants is Sister Mary Lou Owens OP, who served our parish so faithfully for 16 years. She has been a professed Catholic Sister for 60 years. We are grateful to God for her years among us and wish her many more happy years of consecrated religious life.

If you would like to leave Sr. Mary Lou a note of congratulations, go to While you are there, take a look around the sisters’ website to see how you might connect with them as they work together to faithfully fulfill the mission God asks them for the Life of the World.
